Funding for MSK entrepreneurs

ORUK was the first MSK charity to provide pre-seed and seed funding to MSK start-ups. It supports one or two MSK businesses every year with investment in return for equity, through two routes:

  1. Companies can apply to the annual ORUK Ronald Furlong Fund which supports the development of innovative and commercially viable ideas from UK start-ups.
  2. Entrepreneurs completing the ORUK funded MSK Innovation Accelerator programme, hosted by MedTech SuperConnector at Imperial, have the opportunity to pitch their start-up idea to a panel of eminent clinicians and innovation experts.

In addition to this direct investment from ORUK, the Joint Venture: MSK Innovation Network provides MSK entrepreneurs with access to angels, VCs and other investors.

Joint Venture also works to attract more private and public funding for MSK innovation by highlighting the importance and commercial potential of the category.
